La Ruta de los Conquistadores in Costa Rica is considered the most difficult endurance race in the world, traveling more than 240 miles through five mountain ranges as it takes racers across the continent from the Pacific Ocean to the Caribbean Sea. Kaenon’s Alex Grant, 3-time winner of the Point to Point race, accepted the challenge and took to the road.
Although the race got off to a shaky start for Alex and team-mate Ben Sonntag, they were able to pull it together and finish 7th and 8th. Last year they finished 1st and 2nd, but as Alex said, “Sometimes you’re the hammer and sometimes you’re the nail.” This year they were the nail.
